This little blog entry (the last one is nearly a half-year ago) deals with the current situation of my blog and my current projects, especially my Pear3DEngine. Read More…
A great video about the people behind Crysis 3 and about the seven available environments.
At the moment I’m writing my second novel (the first one is paused) and I am really euphoric about that! It is every time a really good feeling to see something happen, to see that your own story becomes a life. It is awesome. But there is a big problem. My story is huge (like many other novels) and becomes very complicated over time. Some characters have a background story, some others have special feelings, etc.
Of course you are the author, it is your story, something of your life, so you must know this all from the head. But let’s be honest, this is complete nonsense. Our brain is limited and it would be stupid if we did not take advantage of the available technology.
Today I want to introduce one of the many possibilities. I use it and love it. It is not something new and I can bet that other authors use this technique too. So it is not my technique. Only my idea to introduce it for you
Let’s start and make our own Wikipedia, but this time only about our own story…
Yeah! Another great tech demo from Crytek. I really love the new third generation global illumination, the fogs and the lights… It looks really delicious
But what is that bird and the butterflies? Come on, that could be done better

After some days without new material about the next-gen blockbuster game , 3Crytek has released a new interactive trailer yesterday. I want to give my own two cents and tell you more about the current state. I have nothing to do with the development and the company (Crytek), so it is an external status report, which consists of facts that are available on the Internet.
(This video is from the Crysis YouTube channel)
The new interactive trailer is amazing. I went through every possible way and saw how different the game can be when you play as Rambo or as Splinter Cell. Of course it is not really that fun. It is only a video where you can click here and there and see what happened. Real interactive you know?
As a SourceForge fan and user I’m a bit sad but I think it is a right decision. The old hosted apps service never gives you the necessary access and space to do something like to add a new extension into your MediaWiki instance. Now (in fact you could even do it sooner) you can start your own hosted app in your own project-web space. I have done it and merged my old wiki (https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/pear3dengine/) to a new point (http://pear3dengine.sourceforge.net/wiki/).
But there is one very big problem… SourceForge allows only 16 Mb PHP memory space… this is not enough and the reason for the bad links in the wiki. Hopefully they promised to work on the MediaWiki issues. So I’m looking forward!
PS: The old wiki links are now broken, I will change every link to the new url soon.
